Mr. Johnny Chan
I am deeply honored to speak with you as the newly appointed Chairman of the Global Venture Capital Congress (GVCC).
It was in Tokyo 2024 that I became the second Chairman of the GVCC, having been passed the baton of leadership by Terry McGuire, a giant by any measure in the venture capital industry. His are big shoes to fill and indeed towering shoulders to stand upon, and I can only hope to validate his faith in me. It is an absolute privilege, honor, and humbling experience for me to assume this new responsibility.
I must start of course by celebrating the remarkable achievements and earnest dedication of our departing Chairman, who has led this Congress since 2010. His visionary leadership has helped us build a platform with as many as 30 private equity and venture capital associations around the world, providing them and the industry as a whole the opportunity to examine the many issues and opportunities in the private capital markets every 18 months.
I accept this responsibility with great pride and pledge to dedicate my utmost efforts toward sustaining the extraordinary momentum we have built, working to take the GVCC to unprecedented levels of success.
